Space for Artists – Support for the Independent Scene

Since 2015, this initiative has provided rehearsal spaces and support for dance and performance artists, and starting in 2024, we’re continuing this tradition in the spacious facilities on Siegfriedgasse thanks to the support of the Verein für nachhaltige künstlerische Arbeit and the support of the MA7.

Our goal is to offer artists affordable rehearsal spaces, storage, and office areas, allowing them the freedom to work independently of institutions and premiere schedules. Projekt Arbeitsplatz 2024-2025 brings together five core groups/artists from Vienna’s performing arts scene, who collectively manage, maintain, and open the studios to a variety of projects:

Alongside rental options, we offer residency formats to provide free workspace for selected artists and groups.

With a 380m² area—divided into two studios, an office, and storage—Projekt Arbeitsplatz is a valuable resource for artists seeking to work sustainably and collaboratively. From short rehearsals to extended residencies, it’s a creative home for Vienna’s independent arts community.
